Work from Home Cardigan
About 5 or 6 years ago I came across Red Heart Roll With It Melange yarn and fell in love with the colorways. They are like watercolors come to life. Every picture I saw of what someone had made with this yarn was rolling around in my head for months. I knew that someday, I would use it to make something…. preferably something wearable and a very visible wearable thing like a sweater or poncho… maybe a scarf or hat. A couple years back I had picked up 2 cakes of the Show Time colorway, intending to pair it with a solid light blue yarn to make a Roxy Pullover. But, due to budget constraints, I didn’t get any more than the 2 cakes. I did make the Roxy Pullover. That post will come later. But, I knew I still wanted to make a garment with nothing but this yarn some day.
Well, last month, Yarnspirations had this yarn on sale at a deep discount. My eyes lit up! It was time. Time to make some wonderful, beautiful, gloriously dreamy sweater with the painterly watercolor yarn. I had seen a pattern for a simple cardigan from Moogly using this yarn – the Work From Home Cardigan. Easy to throw on over just about anything to keep cozy and warm, but also pretty enough to be on video calls while, you guessed it, working from home. I ordered quite a bit more yarn than the pattern called for as I was already intending to make it longer. I am tall and wanted this to be something that would comfortably cover my backside when wearing my WFH leggings. 😉
